Need some different garb for your next trip to the Ren Fair? Or just looking to add a history-bounding piece to your closet? This dress was made for an early Medieval costume, aiming for 900-1000 AD. It’s a T-tunic style garment, constructed from rectangle and triangle pieces with gussets under the arms. Sleeves are very long, so they can be fashionably bunched up.
Fabric feels like a linen/cotton/poly blend (it was secondhand so I don’t know the exact material). Entirely hand-sewn, no sewing machine, with cotton-covered poly thread. It has been worn to many outdoor events and washed quite a bit over the last 7 years, so it has some minor pilling and stains, but still makes a good base layer. Photo example attached.
Bust measures 33 inches, so you will want to be under that for a comfortable fit. Hip flare starts 16 inches down from the shoulder seam.
Pick up in Willet, or handoff at Harford Town Hall, Main St in Dryden or Marathon, Cortland Free Library, or Ithaca Mall.
