The Paleontological Research Institution is seeking a part-time maintenance assistant to provide general maintenance duties under the supervision of PRI’s Associate Director for Operations and Philanthropy.. The ideal candidate will be skilled in preventative maintenance, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs of buildings and equipment. This position offers the right candidate the opportunity to advance to a full-time position within 12-18 months. Maintenance supports the daily operations of PRI and is instrumental in preserving PRI’s 80,000 sq ft of aging infrastructure.
Responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with construction and installation of exhibits.
• Troubleshooting, repairing, and coordinating the repair of equipment, from small scale to large building systems.
• Repairs/installations related to general maintenance including door locks, windows, toilets, pumps, and drains.
• Completing in-house projects including and not limited to office renovations, exterior façade repairs, and electrical updates.
• Coordinating with vendors for annual inspections and quarterly tests of fire and safety systems.
Qualified applicants will have:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability in construction and general maintenance
• General computer knowledge including use of email, calendar, and internet searching
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Have flexibility with availability including working evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary: $21.00/hour
