Played so little--this snare is perfect.
Pristine, mint, like new.
Exceptional grain, incredible sound.
Midway between maple and birch...
Warm midrange with clear attack, and sensitive dynamics.
Plays well at any volume.
Great articulation, sweet whispery grace notes, aggressive backbeats.
The most versatile wood-- I have used a number of different beech snares.
And this N&C is the absolute best; my favorite make and size.
