I am an artist/writer in my early 30s. I am looking for an affordable place to live, either by myself or with housemates who share similar values. I like to be in nature whenever possible, and it would be great to find something nearby the forest. I spend a lot of time working and studying at home, so I do need a healthy balance of quiet, but I also understand when living in an active community means some commotion at times.
If you're reading this ad, I am still looking for a place nearby Ithaca or the Finger Lakes area, and would really appreciate any help.
I have lived in cabins, huts, yurts, etc... I'm very open to alternative structures, but ideally this place will have access to water and electricity. Something reasonably close to Ithaca would be great, but I also enjoy most of the surrounding countryside. My interests (outside of art, poetry, music, photography, film, etc.) include natural foods and medicines, cooking, gardening, repairing things, and really anything which fascinates and inspires me.
I may also be able to offer partial or full work trade, if my skills or elbow grease fit the bill.
I am in a month-to-month rental at present, and hoping to move into a better situation, hence this ad being posted up for so many ongoing months. I would love to move as soon as possible, but also being patient while I search. I am really hoping to find a stable home for the near future (and beyond), rather than move again and again.
Apologies to anybody I may have missed, please do feel free to reach out again if you resonate or feel called. I have been fielding a lot of emails from this ad, most of which are not quite a match for my needs, or a little beyond my budget (and way too much spam). Also, however... If you are somebody who is also looking for housing and want to team up, correspondence would be welcome.
By the way, because so many people have been asking: I am male. The reason I did not specify gender is because I'm hoping to find a situation where it is not especially relevant.
Anyhow, thanks for reading. Feel free to ask more questions.
I know this is a strange time in the world...
Great timing to be looking for a new place, right?
