I am an artist/writer in my early 30s, who loves to be near nature. I am looking for a place, either by myself, or with housemates who have similar values. I spend a lot of time working and studying at home, so I do need a healthy balance of quiet, but I also understand when living in an active community means some commotion at times ;) I'm very open to alternative structures. I have lived in cabins, huts, yurts...you name it. Ideally this place will have water, electric, heat of some form, etc. Somewhat close to Ithaca would be great, but I also enjoy most of the surrounding countryside.
As of May 2021, I am still looking for a place. I'm in the same not-so-great month to month arrangement as when I first posted this ad, and needless to say I'm excited to move on.
I am hoping to find something affordable, which is much more important to me than how fancy the place is. I do appreciate the "castle on a hill overlooking the beach" offers I've received, and I wish I could take you up on those places, but unfortunately that is not the reality of being an artist in today's world.
Anyhow, thanks for reading. Feel free to ask any questions. I know this is a strange time in the world... Great timing to be looking for a new place, right? If you are somebody who is also looking for housing and want to team up, correspondence would be welcome. My interests (outside of art, poetry, music, photography, film, etc.) include natural foods and medicines, cooking, gardening, repairing things, and all that's good.
I may also be able to offer partial or full work trade, if my skills or elbow grease fit the bill.
Let me know what you have in mind, thanks.
