For sale is a Rollei 2.8c (Schneider Xenotar f/2.8 lens) in mint condition. I'm selling it for what I paid for it last year, before it had an upgrade to a new bright screen and a recent recalibration of the focus by Dan Daniel. I've put 30 rolls through it and the camera appears to work flawlessly.
The only reason I'm selling this beautiful machine (and I didn't really know how beautiful until I owned one) is because at my age (79), my plan to switch from 35mm to 6x6 for an everyday carry isn't working out -- the camera is slightly too big and I'm afraid to bang around as usual carrying such a precious object. I love 6x6 cameras (I have a couple of Mamiyas, too), but it turns out that I now love them mainly on a tripod. So I am seeking to get my initial investment back in order to switch to a Leica. (And if you have an M2 or M4 with a 35mm lens in similarly good shape and want to talk about a swap, please let me know.)
I'm feeling lazy today and also not terribly eager to part with this camera, so I'm not going to bother yet with photos. If you are the sort of person who would want to buy a Rollei in this kind of shape at this kind of price, then you already know perfectly well what it should look like, and the next step would be to meet in person so that you can check it out.
Where I live (Ithaca) is traditionally described as "centrally isolated," but for a person genuinely looking for a camera of this quality, I would be willing to send photos and then meet at some agreed-upon location halfway to Rochester, Syracuse, or Binghamton.
