Taitem Engineering seeks to hire an experienced office operations and HR specialist. This position is part of the Operations Department, under the direction of the executive team. This position includes all areas under the “staff services” or “people operations” umbrella as well as office operations tasks. The split between HR and general operations tasks varies between 30% and 70% of weekly hours. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with an expectation of approximately 30 hours per week.

Taitem supports a hybrid work environment with in-office and remote work as well as a flexible workday schedule. The successful candidate must, however, be able to meet with local staff at the Ithaca office during standard office hours as needed.
Office management and operations responsibilities include:
Financial: reconcile bank statements; use accounting management software to process accounts payable
Miscellaneous operations tasks such as coordinating facilities management and staff events
Routine tasks, including maintaining office supplies and routing phone calls.
HR responsibilities include:
General HR support, including maintaining records in HR software platforms.
Participation in all HR functions, including recruiting and benefits.
Supporting staff with benefits, such as paid family leave, disability, and workers’ compensation claims
Ensure regulatory compliance

Able to complete tasks with minimal supervision

Good reading comprehension, especially of legal or insurance documents

Compensation: The recruiting range for this position is between $45,240 and $62,400 per year, based on 30 hours per week, depending on the skills and experience of the applicant. This is benefits-eligible position.
