I am a local voice specialist and singing teacher with over fifty years experience. Teaching is what I do. Teaching is all I do. I have a passion for it. I don't teach on the side to support a performing career. I teach so I can teach.
I've worked with eight-year-olds through senior citizens. Some students have gone on to opera companies. Some fronted heavy alternative bands. Many have found success in the musical theatre world. More than a few work in film. Some have followed a singer-songwriter acoustic guitar career. I've worked with many a successful jazz singer. I've helped some voices reverse the damage from years of abusive singing. I've had classical singers get their technique started before their careers in major music schools. I’ve had classical singers fix their technique after their stints in music school. I have helped some students learn to match pitch and sing in tune. Others have learned to eliminate vocal fry. Some work on their public speaking voices. Everyone is welcome here.
Whatever you want to sing, I'll help that happen. I don't impose my musical taste on a student. I help to bring out a student's vocalism in the safest, most bio-mechanically sound way possible for that individual's instrument. I use diverse methods in an equitable balance of what you need and what you like with an inclusive palette of styles. Once we achieve vocal neutral we work to your goals.
I've published in the Journal of Singing (2001, 2004) and presented before the National Association of Teachers of Singing (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005), at the International Congress of Voice Teachers (2005), at the Royal Conservatory of Music (2006), and for the annual Voice Foundation symposium (2007). I'm not a dilettante.
Lessons are a fifty-minute hour, scheduled weekly, at established times, between 12:30 pm and 8:30 pm (per a clause in my studio lease). I do not teach on Mondays. So far I’ve managed to keep my weekends open. Changes in scheduled time can occasionally be made to accommodate conflicts that may occur.
For my post-pandemic studio reopening I have decided to keep to my pre-pandemic fee schedule. Lessons are $60 per session. There is a 20% discount for public school and matriculated students ($48 per session) that expires one year after graduation. There is no tariff on lessons!

Well, maybe 2026.

Let the process deliver when mastery is achieved.
