You stole our dog.

We left for vacation on February 14. That night our Lansing area dog sitter accidentally let our little dog Toby get away, close to Warren and Farrell. For several days after that there were multiple sightings, and our friends swarmed the area looking for him. The last sighting was February 19. Then silence. Since we got back from our trip on February 23 we gave our friends a break and ourselves spent between two and six hours every day searching for our little dog Toby. Posters, hundreds of flyers, door to door conversations throughout the area, postings on Facebook Craig’s List etc. and check-ins with every Vet office, UPS driver and mail carrier in the area. We’ve also walked every inch of a two-mile radius looking for remains. Nothing since 2/19. We still can’t stop checking the area every day, hoping for a miracle.
So it looks like someone picked him up. Toby is a very small terrier mix, with a face a little like a scotty. He is mostly black, is tiny and adorable (and also easily terrified). We understand how easy it was to pick him up and begin to love him. But he already has a home, which desperately needs him back.
If you picked up this dog, or if you know who did, please please help return him to our still heartbroken family. We can make this as painless as possible for you - sincerely no strings attached. We can arrange an impartial third party to pick him up, and will pay you $250 cash for your time, and for your strength in making the hard decision to call us. If you don’t have Toby but can lead us to him, you get $250 for that too.
It will be hard to make that call, but please take just a moment to think about our family and the tears being shed every day. You could really bring some joy to this world. Thank you. show contact info
