It's basically a desk within a desk. There's an upper larger desk, and a slightly smaller nested desk that rolls out on two wooden wheels. The smaller desk has a drawer.
I installed two pieces of cherry to brace the lower desk when I wanted it to feel sturdier, but those are easy to remove if you don't want them. When those brace pieces are removed, the smaller desk slides fully underneath the larger desk. With the brace pieces there, it sticks out about 2" beyond the larger desk.
The drawer has several little compartments. The wheels used to have some rubber gaskets on them that have worn off. There are no obvious flaws to the desk other than a very slight patch of lightening on the finish of the front lower desk right above the drawer, and on the left front rolling leg.
Measurements:
larger / upper desk: 34" x 20" x 32" tall
lower desk: 30 1/4" x 15 3/4" x 28 1/8" tall
The depth of the entire unit when the lower desk is fully extended out is 34 1/2"
