Open Doors English Summer Spanish Educator Job Announcement
Open Doors English seeks a temporary part time Spanish Language instructor. This educator provides beginner-level Spanish language instruction to adults for a 6 week session. Probable dates July 7 - August 13. The position is for an in-person class 2 afternoons per week. Position includes 4 hours of instruction plus 2 hours paid prep time per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
prepare for and provide beginner-level Spanish instruction that is appropriate, accessible, and engaging for students
provide a positive, supportive learning environment with high expectations for students
deliver Spanish instruction that is appropriate and accessible across communicative modalities (reading, writing, listening, & speaking), with an emphasis on speaking and listening.
monitor students’ progress and modify instruction accordingly
maintain class records
attend staff meetings as requested
maintain open and clear communication with ODE co-directors and colleagues
Skills and Qualifications: (preferred but not required)
Experience teaching adults in a classroom setting
Experience teaching Spanish
Experience learning another language and/or living in another culture
Wage: $25/hour
