Fall Creek Atelier is a small independent boutique located in Press Bay Alley in Ithaca. We specialize in gemstone jewelry 💎 and all-natural bath and body care 🌿, and we are looking for a sociable, grounded, and dependable Boutique Assistant for a contracted position who enjoys working in a personal, hands-on retail environment.
This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with people and thrives in a small boutique setting where building connections with customers is central to the experience.
We would especially love to find someone who appreciates gemstones, jewelry, natural self-care products, and fashion 👗, and enjoys sharing that enthusiasm with others.
🛍 Customer Experience (Top Priority)
Assisting customers who walk into the boutique is the most important part of this role. Every person who enters the store must be greeted warmly and treated with professionalism and care.
The ideal candidate:
- Loves talking with people and creating a welcoming environment
- Feels comfortable initiating conversations with customers
- Enjoys a personal and interactive retail setting
- Has an interest in gemstones, jewelry, natural products, and fashion
If you are very shy or easily overwhelmed in social situations, this position will likely not be a good fit.
🎪 Markets & Events (Important Part of the Position)
A key part of this role is working markets, festivals, and outdoor events throughout the season.
This includes:
- Setting up and breaking down booth displays
- Selling products and engaging with customers at events
- Representing the brand in a lively market environment
- Applicants must be comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions ☀️❄️, including hot summer days and colder temperatures.
📋 Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in the boutique
- Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere
- Clean and organize the store
- Assist with creating a weekly social media plan
- Take photos and video content during shifts 📸
- Create and post content on the boutique’s social media accounts
- Network with other local businesses 🤝
- Help stock products at partner locations
- Assist with markets and festivals, including booth setup, breakdown, and selling
