The 38th Annual Map Sale will take place Tues-Wed, Nov. 28 and 29, in Cornell University’s Sibley Hall, in the basement next to the Green Dragon Café, from 10 am to 3:30 pm both days. These are reproductions of antique maps from the 15th through early 20th centuries - world maps, town plans, sea charts, and bird’s-eye views of cities and regions from around the U.S. and the world. Cities represented include Beijing, Cape Town, Mexico City, San Francisco, London, Paris, Rome, Cairo, New York, Chicago, Tokyo, Auckland, Mumbai, and hundreds more! All for sale at discounted prices ranging from $10 to $18 for prints that are usually priced from $18.00 to $85.00. Some maps are also available as notecards and postcards for $1.50 each.
Also for sale are gently used books and magazines on topics including art, architecture, urban design, architectural history, planning, historic preservation, and travel for $3 to $8 each.
All proceeds benefit Historic Preservation Planning Alumni, the alumni organization of the Graduate Program in Historic Preservation Planning, and co-sponsored by the Preservation Studies Student Organization.
