This ornate fireplace insert was found in the basement of our home, which was built in 1914. The insert appears to be a combination of materials: probably ceramic, cast iron, and possibly some brass. The design in the ceramic is especially beautiful and unique. The unit has a pipe at the bottom to connect to gas, however I have no idea if it's currently operational.

There is a decent amount of rust, but no other sign of wear and tear. No cracks in the ceramic, and the piece is very solid.
The unit is 14" deep (front to back), 28" across the front, and 20" across the back.
