I am looking for someone to trade homes and sublet my apartment from approx. January-April. I live in a spacious 2 bedroom apartment in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn. I am looking to get out of the city for a few months, and in return I would live in your home in Ithaca, and pay your rent. I am ideally looking for a one bedroom apt/home, studio, or ample private space in a shared home. My price range is between $400-$550 a month. I have one lovely kitten who would be living with me. Cats are welcome here, but no dogs at this time.
Utilities run about $80 month, and that includes gas, electric, and internet. It is a 4 unit apt building, and the neighbors are all friendly, and quiet families. The apt is located on the 2nd floor and is the only apt on the floor. It has high ceilings, and a lot of light. It is about 10 blocks away from the A and G trains. It is close to downtown Brooklyn, Ft. Green, and Clinton Hill, and less than 20 minutes to Manhattan. There are a some nice coffee shops, bars, and restaurants in the area.
I am a female in my early 30's with a quiet lifestyle. I don't want to break my lease right now, but I want to leave the city for a while. I am interested in moving to Ithaca, but would like to try it out for a few months first. If you have a home you want to keep, but need to, or want to come to live in an affordable place in the city, this might be a great opportunity.
